Melo - AI driven app for making better sense of challenging behaviours

By James Chapman, Decently Added 1st Mar, 2023 Updated 23rd Mar, 2023

Melo is an AI-driven app designed to help clinicians make earlier sense of behaviour that challenges.

Initially focussed on helping patients recovering from a TBI (traumatic brain injury), ABI (acquired brain injury) or other neurological conditions, Melo is designed to improve the way clinicians can use data to support more evidence-based decisions - leading to increased opportunity to predict and prevent patient safety incidents.

Reduced incidents can help improve patient outcomes, improve working conditions for staff and ultimately save hospitals time and money.

About

Decently have been working on Melo in collaboration with a number of NW-based NHS trusts. Currently about to embark on a 12-month real-world validation with Salford Royal, the team has been supported by the LCR Health Matters programme to build their evaluation protocol in line with NICE ESF standards.

Longer term the aim is for Melo to be able to support a broader set of patients across dementia, delirium, learning disabilities and other mental health conditions.

The team is interested in talking to any innovation leads or clinical leaders in neuro-rehab units across the UK as they look to increase the size of their real world evaluation over the course of 2023.
