What is the Innovation Exchange?

The Innovation Agency Exchange provides an online forum for colleagues and service users across the healthcare sector to share innovative solutions, projects and products to improve patient care.

It is managed by the Innovation Agency, an Academic Health and Science Network (AHSN) for the North West Coast, which connects people working in the NHS, health and social care professionals, businesses, organisations and individuals looking for improved, more efficient ways of working.

The Innovation Agency Exchange is a platform for innovators to share and showcase new innovations which can improve patient outcomes and experiences. Health and care professionals can post challenges to aid the search for cost-effective solutions and accelerate the delivery of safer, better care.  

If you are a patient you don’t need to register to explore the site and be inspired by all of the innovation across the region.

The Innovation Agency Exchange is aligned to the AHSN’s national Innovation Exchange programme.  Funded by the Office of Life Sciences, the Innovation Exchange programme is an AHSN coordinated approach to identify, select and support the adoption of innovations that improve our economy and patients’ lives.  The Innovation Exchange programme comprises of four elements which the portal has been designed to support: Needs identification; signposting innovators; real world validation; and the spread and adoption of supported innovations. 

The Innovation Agency Exchange is a shared resource with the Yorkshire and Humber AHSN, providing a critical mass across the north of England.
