KRTS Power to Respond Ltd

Cath Kerr

Director/Chartered Counselling Psychologist

As a Chartered Psychologist I have more than 20 years’ experience of working with high risk organisations and clients suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and acute trauma reactions including those following serious assaults, hostage situations, road traffic collisions, firearms incidents, witnessing violence and death and historical child sexual abuse. I have a Management background within the voluntary and private sector. I currently help many organisations consider the valuable human aspect of their business, enabling them to stay on course whatever storm they were forced to weather! This involves Consultation to establish current policies and procedures and suggest cost effective, efficient ways to make the best use of resources. I provide comprehensive support working collaboratively with senior management and helping organisations to create a solid framework that they can lean on in times of crisis, providing them with control, stability and security. I have helped a number of organisations achieve industry standard accreditations. Additionally, I have been involved with local NHS Primary Care Groups to help provide early preventative measures in response to mental health issues. As a Director of KRTS, we provide high quality effective training to empower organisations by utilising their internal valuable assets (i.e. their own staff), thus reducing the need for some of the external interventions, and enabling them to provide the right support to the right person at the right time. As well as having an MSc in Psychological Trauma, I am a Consultant, international author and presenter. With my co-Director, Dr Liz Royle, we created KRTS Power to Plan™ a comprehensive organisational psychological risk assessment tool, KRTS Power to Respond™ an innovative award winning App, which supports the immediate needs of employees and their managers post critical incident, and KRTS Power to Recover®, an early intervention online trauma programme that supports individuals following a critical incident. I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Counselling Psychology Qualification Reference Group. And I am also a member of the BPS Crisis, Disaster and Trauma Section which enables me to keep informed of the latest developments in the field.
