Vaccination is a cost- effective intervention but uptake rates have typically been lower for flu amongst people under 65 with COPD. Programmes to target people of all ages with this condition along with sustaining and improving uptake among all eligible groups (including healthcare workers) will help limit exposure to infection

Health services should use every opportunity to vaccinate eligible groups against 'flu and pneumococcal infection .
