Immersive Rehab - Digital Therapeutics for Neurorehabilitation

Immersive Rehab provides a personalised, engaging and clinically validated digital therapeutics solution in virtual reality to tackle the current limitations of neurorehabilitation, in particular for people with significant upper limb mobility limitations as a result of stroke, multiple sclerosis, ALS and spinal injury. Research has shown that retraining the brain can lead to important gains in mobility. By combining physical rehab with cognitive challenges, itis possible to obtain important gains in mobility and function. We propose that Immersive Rehab's digital therapeutics neurorehabilitation solution can impact this significantly.


Neurorehabilitation is most often not an accessible, engaging and motivating activity to embark upon and engagement with and long term compliance can be a limiting factor in relation to treatment success. Stroke & MS patients and people with limited mobility in upper limbs often cannot engage with physical objects during their rehab due to lack of strength which slows down their recovery process, as well as being very demoralising. In addition, long waiting times to access acute neurorehab services exist. Our mission is to transform and improve the way neurorehabilitation is currently being approached by offering personalised and engaging neurorehabilitation programmes in Virtual Reality. The aim is to achieve important gains in mobility and function beyond what can be achieved with current physical & neuro-rehabilitation practices, thereby focusing in particular on improving upper limb function, fine motor skills and balance. In addition, we also focus on cognitive challenges.

Current target user groups are people with upper limb mobility limitations and poor fine motor function, in particular as a result of stroke, MS, ALS and spinal injury. These patients will be able to perform neurorehabilitation exercises by interacting with virtual 3D objects, something often not achievable in the real world. The value to patients is enhanced patient neurorehabilitation experiences, improved mobility outcomes due to better compliance, and reduced referral/waiting times. Our target customers are neurorehabilitation clinics, hospitals units & private neurorehabilitation practices. The value to those customers is enhanced patient assessments and improved patient compliance.
