About

The EarlySense System is a fully integrated patient monitoring supervision platform that provides continuous vital sign and motion information for general care patients. EarlySense is a contact-free, continuous monitoring system that detects Heart Rate, Respiratory Rate, and Motion – without touching the patient. In the event of a change in a patient’s status, the system alerts nurses on their hand-held devices and at the nurses’ station allowing them to provide patient care in a timely manner. EarlySense has proven to reduce falls, pressure ulcers, alarm fatigue and helped clinicians to prevent critical events by allowing them to intervene early.

The sensor:The sensor used utilises a piezoelectric technology, the sensor detects mechanical vibrations of the heart cardio ballistic (motion) effect, Respiratory and patient motion. The signal is sent to the bedside monitor.

The bedside monitor:Algorithms analyze the data and accurately measure Heart and Respiration rates, patient motion, as well as indicate patient trends over time.

EMR Integration: The interface and integration with hospital information systems and medical dashboards is done through a Gateway computer to the hospital’s EMR network via HL7, XML, or Cerner CCM client protocol. Additionally, the system is compatible with ADT and Alerting IT Systems
